July 7, 2025
As of July 1, 2025, the United States has lifted most sanctions and trade restrictions on Syria. The executive order was made public on June 30, 2025 with Executive Order: Providing for the Revocation of Syria Sanctions. The executive order authorizes US persons and companies to engage in trade with Syria. The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has terminated the Syria Sanctions Program and removed Syrian financial institutions from the Specially Designated Nationals List (SDN).
When doing business with Syria, remember to screen all parties involved in the transaction to ensure none of the parties appear on any remaining sanctions lists.
