Customs released a message advising the trade community that they should continue to file NAFTA claims under NAFTA requirements (if they apply). An additional message will be released once changes for USMCA are made to the ACE Business Rules and CATAIR.

Changes include:

  • New USMCA indicator will be created.
  • New provision code for the sugar exception will be created.
  • New provision code for USMCA 1313j2 exception will be created.
  • Updated certification in CATAIR.
  • New DIS document labels for NAFTA/USMCA claims being created for supporting documentation in DIS.
