Crane Worldwide Logistics has recently become AEO certified in South Africa. The Authorised Economic Operator compliance programme is associated with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) customs.
It is an important programme to ensure that an organization meets certain criteria and can be held responsible for customs matters including:
- Internal operational processes and computer systems
- Appropriate records of compliance
- Sufficient financial resources
- Customs knowledge
By reaching AEO accreditation, our South African organization will implement improved processes and procedures with benefits for our clients such as:
- Elimination of the manual process: Reduction of manual, paper intensive processes, rolling out a paperless system in Johannesburg.
- Fewer routine documentary and physical inspections.
- Prioritizing of tariff and valuation determinations.
- Prioritising access to non-intrusive inspection techniques when goods are stopped or detained for Customs inspections.
This is a significant milestone in our growth journey in South Africa that recognizes our continuous improvement efforts.
With full freight forwarding services and our newly opened warehouse in Plumbago Business Park, a complete suite of supply chain services is available to our domestic and international clients.
