What is a Certificate of Origin?

The Certificate of Origin (CO) is an international trade document that provides certification that goods in an export shipment are obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a given country. The certification declares the origin of the product and is used by exporters as part of the customs documents needed to ship goods internationally.
