Port Houston Shuts Down Due To Tropical Storm Nicholas

Weather Update (September 14th)

Due to the continued effects of Hurricane Nicholas and widespread power outages, all Port Houston terminals will remain closed Tuesday (September 14th). This includes the Turning Basin Terminal, Barbours Cut, and Bayport Container Terminals. Vessel operations will resume at 7:00 PM Tuesday, and the Port Authorities expect to resume normal operations Wednesday.


Weather Update (September 13th)

Port Houston container terminal ingates will close today, Monday, September 13, at 3:00 PM (CST). Multi-purpose facilities will continue operating at regular hours today.

All terminals, including Barbours and Bayport container terminals and Turning Basin terminal, will be closed Tuesday, September 14 in the morning. A possible noon reopening will be announced by 6:00 PM this evening. Vessel operations continue as possible.
